![]() ![]() I recently watched an 1993 Los Angeles open one - pocket division match, Mark Tadd vs Cecil Tugwell, both top players (I met Cecil and road partner Gabby) at Rusty's 24 hrs, Dallas). I have known road players who played great pool, but were of questionable character. If you are the better player, do your talking with the cue, and really beat the guy, once his handicap / ranking is corrected, and reflects his ability. If you are not the tournament director, you have no right to change the game, you deemed unfair. Whether the opponent had no ranking versus your 650 is immaterial, and just your bad luck. By picking up the 8 with your hand, when it was the opponent's turn, you committed a foul, and forfeited that rack. Tourette syndrome? Repeating the same post to justify yourself doesn't make it right. (d) continuing to play after a foul has been called or play has been suspended (c) playing a shot by intentionally miscuing (b) changing the position of the balls in play other than by a shot Which disrupts or changes the game to the extent that it cannot be played fairly. The normal penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct is the same as for a serious foul, but the What’s the point of a handicap if you’re expected to lose? My first time with Fargo and it blew up in my face. I haven’t lied nor tried to deceive anyone. I actually feel bad for the dude trying to defend a defenseless position. He’s on here responding trying to justify what he did.Įdit3: Fun’s over. I ended up beating him 3-1 but lost the next match to a pro with 695 Fargo. My first time ever at this bar and he seemed to be buddies with the Tournament Director. He took it out of play since it was my handicap for <400 Fargo. Also the 8-ball was not respotted after he dropped it. He did it early on in the games that even with ball in hand it was tough to run out 7’ tables btw. I say it’s cheating and you should be disqualified if you deliberately move any ball with your hand, especially when it’s not your turn. In my fourth match games (when it was my turn) opponent would pick up the 8-ball and drop it in a pocket: “You’ve got ball in hand.” Saturday morning I played in a 9-ball tournament that registered me a fargo rating for the first time and I only had to pocket the 8-ball (or 9-ball) to win. Has anyone heard of an opponent picking up a numbered ball off the table and call it a foul?
